By Adnews Staff
Travel retailer Thomas Cook Canada of Mississauga is considering extending its "Treasures in the Sun" promotion. The annual fall promotion is aimed at customers who book and pay for a vacation package by Oct. 31 and fulfill certain conditions. First time customers receive a Samsung MP3-CD player or a pair of Motorola two-way radios. Returning customers receive either a Samsung combination DVD/VCR, a Kodak EasyShare digital camera or a Micro Entertainment System from Zenith. Merchandise ordering and fulfillment is being handled by Immediate Sales Agency of Waterloo, ON. A national advertising campaign created by John Kennedy & Associates of Toronto is supporting the promotion. According to Johane Desjardins, Thomas Cook's director of marketing and customers relations, the company will decide closer to Oct. 31 whether or not to extend the promotion. If it goes on, the extension will be incorporated into the print ads. A direct mail campaign will also be sent to customers and in-store materials will be updated, Desjardins said. Thomas Cook Canada operates 240 corporate and franchised travel agencies under the names Thomas Cook Travel and Marlin Travel. The company introduced the "Treasures in the Sun" promotion in 1996.
