MANULIFE HOLDS ONLINE CONTEST

Manulife Bank has begun an online contest to promote its Manulife One flexible mortgage account. The "Win a Mortgage-free month" contest will run until Nov. 30. During the contest, Canadian consumers, excluding those in Quebec, are invited to learn about the account by watching an animated presentation on the <http://www.manulife.com> Web site. Consumers must then answer a trivia question about how the account works to enter the contest. A random draw of the correct respondents will be held on Dec. 2. Five winners will each receive a cheque for $1,500. The contest is being supported with a direct mail campaign to 100,000 Manulife customers and with posters in branch offices. Manulife advisors are also promoting the contest through their communications with customers. The contest, direct mail piece and posters were created by Manulife. The direct mail campaign is being executed by TDC Direct.
