SPCA BEGINS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals broke a new campaign in Quebec this week. The awareness effort, aimed at the general public, consists of a 30-second television ad in English and French that addresses the issue of animal abandonment. The commercial begins with a leash falling from the top of a building. As the leash falls it becomes a noose. The words, "Each year in Quebec 500,000 animals are abandoned. Help us change their fate," conclude the ad. Created pro bono by Palm Publicité Marketing of Montreal, the campaign will run for 13 weeks on airtime donated by Quebec television networks. A print initiative will follow this winter.
