CCL, HALIFAX POLICE, ALIANT TELECOM BREAK ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
The CCL Group, Halifax Regional Police and Aliant Telecom began an anti-bullying campaign this week to coincide with the start of the school year. Posters, television and radio commercials, newspaper advertising, postcards, magnets and interior transit ads aim to promote awareness of bullying in schools as well as encourage students and families to recognize the signs of bullying. The campaign uses black creative and the tagline "Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not going on." The number for a bullying hotline is also displayed. Chester Goluch, senior vice-president and chief creative officer at CCL, said there were a number of reasons the agency used black as the basis for the campaign: "It symbolizes how depressed and alone the victim feels while highlighting the fact that bullying often takes place in isolation and we don't always realize it's happening."
