OLLY SHOES OPENS SECOND LOCATION

Children's footwear retailer Olly Shoes of Toronto has opened a location in the Sherway Gardens shopping centre in Toronto. The company's first location on Yonge Street opened last year. The stores sell casual, athletic, dress and school shoes for children under 12 years of age. The stores use computerized fitting stations that create an outline of a child's foot. The outline information is checked against an inventory database that stores sizing information for every shoe brand available. The outcome is a list of shoes that best fit the child's foot. This information is stored in the database for future use or for online shopping at OllyShoes.com. The company plans to open 200 to 250 stores in major North American centres over the next five years. A print advertising campaign in family-oriented publications is currently running. Its tagline is, "Olly Shoes Fit For Kids." The print advertising, created by Mayhem Management, is being supported with a direct mail campaign from Lowe RMP and ongoing public relations by The Siren Group. All of these agencies are based in Toronto.
