NIKE COMMERCIAL GOES TO SCHOOL
By Adnews Staff
Nike Canada of Thornhill, ON released a commercial called "Going to School" in Canadian Cineplex Odeon theatres on Friday. Created specifically for the Canadian market by the company's global ad agency Wieden & Kennedy of Portland, OR, the 60-second spot shows a teenage girl walking to school. Along the way the girl climbs buildings and jumps across rooftops before entering her classroom. The ad ends with the "Just Do It" tagline. "This commercial is relevant to what is going on in a teenager's life," said Nike Canada brand communications manager Sarah Atkins. "It taps into the shift of mindset that kids go through, from the total freedom of summer to the structure of the classroom." The commercial will air on television between Aug. 8 and Sept. 15 during shows including "The Simpsons," "Malcolm in the Middle," "Fear Factor" and the "Teen Choice Awards."
