SC JOHNSON BEGINS PLUGINS PROMOTION

SC Johnson of Brantford, ON has begun a promotion for its Glade Plugins Scented Oil Extra Outlet air freshener. The product, which plugs into a wall socket, has a built-in socket that lets an electrical device use the same outlet. The devices come in "summer berries" and "mystical garden" varieties. The promotion, called "Plug it in and... Plug it in again," began the week of July 8 at <http://www.gladeplugitin.ca>. Visitors to the site can enter to win a collection of household appliances that can be plugged into the air fresheners. The prize package includes an electric can opener, bread maker, clock radio, coffee maker, cordless phone, curling iron, electric frying pan, blender, hair dryer, iron, shaver and toaster. Weekly SC Johnson gift packages will also be awarded. An email component is designed to allow entrants to tell friends about the promotion. Those who do could win a year's supply of products from SC Johnson. The contest is being promoted with traffic and weather radio tags and 30-second radio ads in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. Additional support includes online advertising and printed materials that were poly bagged with Today's Parent magazine, distributed through KidSummer programs and used in a direct mail campaign. The promotion and supporting advertising were created by Rogers Marketing Solutions and FCB Toronto.
