KREMEKO CONTINUES CANADIAN EXPANSION

KremeKo Inc. of Markham, ON will open two additional stores this fall after the September opening of its second Canadian location in Richmond Hill, ON. The new locations will be in Kitchener, ON and Windsor, ON. The Kitchener store will open in mid-October, while the Windsor store will open in November. KremeKo opened the first Canadian Krispy Kreme doughnut store in Mississauga in December 2001. The company plans to open 32 stores in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada over the next few years. Advertising for KremeKo is done by Taxi Advertising & Design of Toronto, which was appointed agency of record prior to the opening of the first store. Since that time the company has also used Square Peg of Toronto. Its lead public relations agency is The Wilcox Group of Vancouver. Edelman Public Relations handles PR in the Toronto market. A search is currently being conducted for a public relations agency for Quebec. Two unknown firms are on a shortlist for the business. A decision expected within a few weeks.
