By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Sears Canada has entered into a licensing agreement with Rob McIntosh China and Crystal Shops. Based in Cornwall, ON, Rob McIntosh operates a national chain of 20 gift and tableware stores. A separate chain of five McIntosh & Watts stores operates in the Ottawa region. Under the terms of the agreement, Rob McIntosh will operate shops in four former Eatons locations which are being converted to Sears stores. The stores concerned are in the Toronto Eaton Centre, the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, the Vancouver Pacific Centre and the Ottawa Rideau Centre. The shop in the Ottawa Rideau Centre will be called McIntosh & Watts. "Sears already has a very successful gift registry business," said Mark Cohen, chairman and chief executive officer of Sears Canada. "But in these four locations we will be able to offer customers an even wider selection from which to choose by adding the fine china assortment that Rob McIntosh brings to Sears." The Rob McIntosh shops will open in conjunction with the completion of the store conversions next month.
