BRAUN HIRES LOWE-SMS

The Toronto office of Lowe/SMS was hired this week without a review to handle media planning and buying for Braun Canada. Lowe is Braun's agency in several countries, "and this provided the opportunity to consolidate full responsibility for the account with Lowe," agency president Stephen Graham told Adnews yesterday. Toronto-based Media Buying Services previously did media planning and buying for the comapny, which makes small kitchen and personal care appliances. Lowe has been doing creative for Braun since it took over Deacon Day Advertising of Toronto, Braun's creative agency at the time the two shops joined together. Braun's annual advertising budget is $4 million.
