Unilever Canada has begun a contest for its Pears by Suave line of haircare products. The "National Smart Shopper Contest" will run until Aug. 23. Participants enter at <http://wwwpearsbysuave.ca>. The grand prize is 35 million reward points from the Hudson's Bay Company. Secondary prizes include free air travel on WestJet and a Smart Shopper prize pack of Unilever household products. Fifty prizes of a year's supply of Pears by Suave shampoos and conditioners will also be distributed. Four regional winners, one each from western Canada, Ontario, Quebec and eastern Canada, will participate in a final "shop-off" in Toronto on Sept. 22. Anna Wallner and Kristina Matisic, hosts of "The Shopping Bags" television program on W Network, will judge the final. Marketing support for the contest includes four weeks of on-air support on W Network beginning July 22, print advertising in English and French-language consumer magazines, radio and out-of-home advertising, a direct mail campaign and a contest page at the <http://www.wnetwork.com> Web site. The advertising was created by Ogilvy & Mather. The contest concept was developed by Warwick Public Relations.
