WORKPLACE SAFETY AWARENESS EFFORT BEGINS IN ONTARIO

The Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board has begun a young worker summer awareness campaign. The campaign tells the stories of James Wright, Sarah Heyink and Michael Hickman. Wright and Heyink are Ontario workers who have experienced workplace injuries. Hickman's brother Tim died when an ice-resurfacing machine he was operating exploded. A series of radio commercials promoting workplace safety broke last week. Transit, outdoor and storefront advertising will begin this week. The summer safety awareness campaign has been running for the past four years. It is aimed at workers 15-24 years of age. The tagline is, "How safe is your job?" The campaign was created by Fuel Advertising of Toronto. Public relations are being handled by Edye Rome Communications Services of Toronto.
