NEW PRESIDENT AT TRUE NORTH ADVERTISING

Toronto-based True North Corp. has appointed Hy Haberman president of True North Advertising. Most recently Haberman was the chief operating officer of Proximity Canada. He is also a former president and chief operating officer of Marketing & Promotions Group and a former senior vice-president of SMW Advertising. Mark Anthony and Sal Iantorno founded True North Advertising and its parent True North Corp. in 1996. Haberman replaces Anthony, who had been president of the agency as well as president and chief executive officer of the corporation. "With our recent acquisition of PPL Marketing and the rapid growth of our client base over the last year, we need someone with Hy's broad expertise and depth of knowledge to build a cohesive unit from the sum of our parts," said Anthony. True North's clients include Ford Motor Co., Budget Rent-a-Car, Kruger, Inglis and Oxford Properties.
