HEWLETT-PACKARD APPOINTS GLOBAL AGENCIES

Hewlett-Packard Co. of Palo Alto, CA has hired three global agencies. Lead agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco will be responsible for worldwide brand advertising development. Publicis Group will be responsible for products and solutions advertising. The company has assigned worldwide media placement responsibilities to Optimedia. Prior to its merger with Compaq, Hewlett-Packard used Goodby, Silverstein and Publicis. Compaq's advertising agency was FCB Worldwide.
