ESSO CHANGES DIRECT MAIL AGENCY

Strategic/Ampersand is launching a direct mail campaign in the spring for Imperial Oil's Esso credit card. The Toronto agency will also be doing some work for the Card Lock card for larger car and truck fleets, and the business-to-business card for smaller fleets. Strategic won the business last month in a competition with three other agencies including incumbent BCP Direct of Toronto. Strategic was chosen because it "clearly demonstrated its expertise in direct and promotional marketing, plus a creative approach that we need...," card programs manager Alex Roth says in a release. BCP has had the account since 1989.
