MANULIFE BREAKS MANULIFE ONE PROMOTION

Manulife Bank of Canada has begun a promotion intended to get Canadians to try a Manulife One flexible mortgage account for one year. If those who try Manulife One are not convinced that it is a better way to handle their day-to-day finances at the end of that time, Manulife will cover up to $500 in expenses to return them to their previous banking methods. The offer is part of a new spring promotion which also includes public relations and newspaper inserts. The PR effort, being handled by MB Communications of Burlington, ON, aims to increase awareness of Manulife One, which combines mortgage, chequing and savings accounts into one. The national newspaper insert campaign is being handled by Brighthouse Communications Management of Waterloo, ON. Distribution of approximately one million inserts began last week in Metroland community newspapers. The inserts will run until the end of the month in The Halifax Herald, Montreal Gazette, La Presse, La Soleil, Ottawa Citizen, Toronto Star, Hamilton Spectator, Kitchener Waterloo Record, Winnipeg Free Press, Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal and Vancouver Sun.
