Coca-Cola Ltd. of Toronto has begun a soccer program to promote its Powerade sports beverage. The "Thirst For Soccer" initiative was created by Trojan Sports & Event Marketing. It began on May 4 in Grimsby, ON at the first of seventy soccer tournaments that will take place in Canada this summer. At each tournament an inflatable one-on-one soccer game will be set up, photographs taken and Powerade provided for players, coaches and spectators. Teams at each tournament can also win Powerade and 2002 FIFA World Cup prizes. Coca-Cola has been the official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup since 1978.
