CHATELAINE.COM BEGINS LAUNDRY REBELLION PROMOTION

Chatelaine.com has begun a marketing campaign called the Online Laundry Rebellion. Visitors to a microsite created for the campaign can send a virtual load of laundry via email to three friends. By doing so they are entered in a contest to win a week-long vacation to Sandals Royal Hicacos Resort & Spa in Varadaro, Cuba. Second prize is a Whirlpool washer and dryer. The site also contains information and content in an area called "Your great balancing act." The contest will run until June 30. It is being promoted with an email campaign to Chatelaine.com's database of names and other email lists. Print ads in Chatelaine magazine and other Rogers publications as well as banner ads on MSN are also being used to promote the contest. The concept for the Online Laundry Rebellion was created in-house. The creative, including the supporting print and banner advertising, was done by Creative Initiative. The microsite was produced by MarketSpace Design Group.
