STAGG CHILI BEGINS RADIO CAMPAIGN

Campbell Michener & Lee of Toronto has released a new radio commercial for U.S.-based Hormel Foods' Stagg Chili. The spot, which is airing in Ontario, is aimed at a male audience. According to Dan Danyer, vice-president of Campbell Michener & Lee, the spot's pitch is that Stagg tastes good enough to pass for homemade. The ad makes use of a character named Chuck who is a seasoned liar. An announcer tells listeners they must start small before graduating to Chuck's status and that Stagg Chili is perfect for misrepresenting their cooking abilities. The tagline is "See the taste. Hide the can." The commercial began a 13-week run last week.
