GAP READIES SUMMER TELEVISION ADVERTISING

San Francisco-based retailer Gap will begin its new summer advertising campaign in the U.S. on Sunday night. The television campaign, which will also run in Canada and the United Kingdom, consists of three 30-second commercials that promote the chain's denim clothing, khakis and white shirts. "Denim Invasion" depicts actors Kate Beckinsale and Orlando Bloom as a couple whose summer stroll is interrupted by admirers. "Two White Shirts" presents actors Dennis Hopper and Christina Ricci playing a game of chess beside a pool. "Down on Khaki Street" shows actors Zooey Deschanel, Scarlett Johansson, Ashton Kutcher and Jay Hernandez riding bicycles on an empty city street. Each ad is set to one of two 60s-inspired soundtracks. The campaign will also make use of black and white photographs in store windows and online at <http://www.gap.com>. The advertising was created in-house.
