CORUS ENTERTAINMENT RE-DESIGNS WTN

On April 15 Toronto-based Corus Entertainment will introduce a re-designed version of its specialty television network WTN. The network will be renamed W. Its new logo consists of an orange circle with the letter "W" in the centre. The channel will carry a new program schedule and a dual feed of its signal for Western Canada. The new on-air branding elements for W, such as station ID's, were created in-house. Creative for the off-air campaign, which includes national television, radio and print advertising, is being handled by Toronto-based Zig. "WTN is being repositioned to extend its reach to a slightly younger demographic," said Wendy Herman, vice-president and general manager for W. "New branding is wrapped around the first phase of a revitalized program schedule. Together, they signal a fresh and dynamic television destination." The network's revised programming schedule includes five new series and eight documentaries in addition to new episodes of its existing popular shows.
