ABC CANADA PREPARES GUTENBERG MEDIA GRAB
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based ABC Canada Literacy Foundation's Gutenberg Media Grab will take place from March 4 to March 8. The online initiative is designed to raise funds for the organization's literacy awareness programs. The effort will target advertisers, marketing representatives and media buyers in Canada. Roughly $700,000 worth of print media space has been donated by magazines, newspapers and out-of-home media companies, to be sold at 65% off its regular value. ABC Canada began promoting the media grab earlier this year with 500 invitations sent to the advertising industry and with print ads in trade publications. Ad space was donated by publications. Recently reminder postcards were sent out, as was an email with a link to the Web site where the sale will take place: <http://www.abcmediagrab.ca>. Promotional materials and advertising for the media grab use the tagline "Got a Mouse? Here's the Cheese." Maud Street Printing Services of Toronto created the promotional materials and Über Interactive, also of Toronto, developed the Web site. Both companies worked for ABC Canada at reduced rates.
