FORD PULLS FOCUS AD
By Adnews Staff
Ford Motor Company of Canada, based in Oakville, ON, has pulled a television ad for its Focus ZX5. The automaker pulled the spot after Advertising Standards Canada, the industry's self-regulatory body, received and upheld a complaint about it. The spot, created by Young & Rubicam, depicts a woman kidnapping a store clerk who has carried her bags out to her car. Lauren More, sales and marketing communications manager at Ford, said the spot, which began running last summer, was pulled during the first week of January. She said Ford is appealing ASC's ruling and will not make any decisions about changing the ad until the appeal is heard.
