BBDO MERGES PROXIMITY CANADA AND GENERATORIDEAWORKS

Relationship marketing agency Proximity Canada and Generatorideaworks, a Toronto-based promotional marketing agency, are joining forces. Both companies are part of the BBDO Canada network. The integrated agency will combine Proximity's direct, data and interactive services with Generator's promotional, event marketing and retail expertise. The intention is to provide a one-stop creative firm for building integrated customer relationship marketing programs. The agency will operate under the Proximity name and will be headed by Proximity Canada president Sarah Simpson. Hy Haberman, formerly president of Generatorideaworks, will be chief operating officer. Clients of the agency include Pepsi, Campbell's, Novopharm, Ontario Tourism, Pollution Probe, Pizza Hut, Certas and KFC.
