800America.com, Inc. of Nashville has acquired Ottawa-based teen loyalty Web site YOUtopia.com. Financial details are unknown. Visitors to YOUtopia.com earn YOUdollars by participating in the activities of client Web sites. YOUdollars can be redeemed for merchandise and products from teen brands. Jerry Kavoun, chief marketing officer for 800America said, "The acquisition opens significant opportunities for 800America.com companies that now have access to sell their goods and services to a new, active and lucrative teen and young adult demographic." 800America.com is the parent company of a number of business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce and technology companies. They include WizardWorld.com, a collection of price guides for collectible items, inShop.com, a database of local shopping options, and OneTwoClick.com, an online shopping portal. Following completion of the acquisition, some YOUtopia.com executives, including CEO Randi Shinder, will join the management staff of 800America.com. The teen site will continue to operate under the YOUtopia.com name.
