PFIZER CANADA BEGINS NEW VIAGRA CAMPAIGN

Pfizer Canada begins a new brand awareness campaign for Viagra today. Viagra is a prescription drug that treats erectile dysfunction. The television campaign was created by Taxi Advertising & Design of Toronto and will run nationally in English and French. The ad, called "Good Morning," shows a man going to work with an "optimistic spring in his step." The Viagra logo and the words "Talk to your doctor" are also displayed. The drug's name is identified in the spot but not its function, in order to comply with Canadian regulations which state that when a prescription medicine is identified in an ad, the associated disease or medical condition cannot be mentioned. Thirty- and 60-second versions of the ad, which is set to the song "Good Morning," have been created. "Our research shows that Canadians don't have all the facts about Viagra, and we hope our new campaign will encourage those people who have questions to be proactive about their health and wellbeing by speaking with their physician for appropriate medical guidance," said Sophie McCann, manager of corporate affairs for Pfizer Canada. The first flight of the campaign will run for six to eight weeks. Public relations for Viagra are handled by Strategic Objectives of Toronto.
