ANGIOTECH APPOINTS INVESTOR RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS VP

Angiotech Pharmaceuticals has appointed Rui Avelar vice-president of investor relations and communications. Avelar joins the Vancouver-based pharmaceutical company from Haywood Securities, also of Vancouver, where he was a biotechnology analyst and venture capital technical analyst.
