ADVANTEX TO EXTEND AIR CANADA'S AEROPLAN PROGRAM
By Adnews Staff
Advantex Marketing International of Toronto has inked a new agreement with Air Canada's Aeroplan program to expand the airline's loyalty program through networks of mid-sized and specialty retail merchants in various consumer categories. Aeroplan members will earn miles on their purchases at these stores. The new initiative will begin next year. "High-end, mid-sized, multi- and single-outlet retailers including specialty stores, boutiques and services represent a large segment of consumer spending in Canada," said Randall Munger, chairman and chief executive officer of Advantex. "The program will establish a core group of participating merchants in targeted neighborhoods of major Canadian cities, and over time expand into outlying regions." The Aeroplan loyalty program began in 1984. It currently has seven million members. Public relations for Advantex are handled by Gail Bergman PR of Toronto.
