KREMEKO BEGINS COUNT DOWN TO FIRST STORE OPENING
By Adnews Staff
KremeKo Inc. is preparing to open the first Krispy Kreme store in Canada. The location, originally expected to open early next year, will open on Dec. 11 at the Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga. KremeKo won development rights from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Corp. of Winston-Salem, NC, earlier this year. The company plans to open 32 stores over the next six years in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Each Krispy Kreme location displays the doughnut making process to the customers and contains a "Hot Doughnuts Now" neon sign. Grand opening activities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, special guests and entertainment provided by 16 local community groups. Billboard and transit brand advertising from Toronto-based Taxi Advertising & Design will run in the Mississauga area. Public relations for KremeKo are handled by The Wilcox Group of Vancouver and Edelman Public Relations.
