GREYHOUND CANADA ISSUES HOUND BUCKS PROMOTION

Calgary-based Greyhound Canada Transportation Corp. is promoting its Hound Bucks gift certificates this holiday season with theatre advertising and in-terminal materials. Hound Bucks are available in $10 and $20 denominations that can be used towards the purchase of a passenger ticket or to send a package via Greyhound Courier Express. This is the first year that the certificates will be sold online at <http://www.greyhound.ca>. Advertising for Hound Bucks began running in Famous Players theatres in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa this weekend. The spots, which use the tagline "It's like asking for money without asking for money which lets you go home to ask for money," will run until the end of the month. The theatre advertising will be supported with in-terminal materials at Greyhound depots. "The most common use of Hound Bucks is bringing family, including elderly parents and children, home for Christmas," said Cheryl Heilman, director of national marketing for Greyhound Canada. "The largest group of purchasers are aged 35 to 55, followed by grandparents buying for their children and grandchildren." Advertising for Greyhound is done by Parallel Strategies.
