MUCHMUSIC TO HOLD NATIONWIDE VJ SEARCH

Toronto-based music station MuchMusic will hold a nationwide search to find a new on-air personality. The "MuchMusic VJ Search 2002" will be supported with a six-city tour hosted by VJ Bradford How, winner of the 2000 VJ Search. Bradford and a MuchMusic roadcrew will visit six RadioShack locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto and Halifax in order to generate awareness and entries. An on-air campaign will also promote the search. Highlights of the tour, which will run from Nov. 19 to Dec. 2, will appear on MuchMusic. Five semi-finalists chosen from submitted audition tapes will be flown to Toronto to compete in a live on-air final on Jan. 27 and 28. The contest deadline is Dec. 31, 2001. The 2002 VJ Search will be the third MuchMusic has held since beginning the promotional initiative in 1995.
