ICE FILES FOR PROTECTION

Integrated Communications & Entertainment has filed for creditor protection under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, according to a report in The Globe and Mail. The Toronto-based marketing communications company continues to operate and is receiving support from clients and suppliers, chairman Jon Nicholls said in the report. ICE has offices in Toronto, Ottawa and New York and counts Air Canada, BMW, Canada Post, FedEx, IBM, Pfizer and Sony among its clients. Industry sources said the company laid off 25 employees last week reducing its staff to 100, according to the report.
