General Mills Canada of Mississauga has taken on marketing and distribution for brands including Green Giant and Old El Paso with the finalization of General Mill's acquisition of Pillsbury from UK-based Diageo earlier this week. In addition to the Green Giant and Old El Paso lines, General Mills has also gained the Pillsbury refrigerated baking dough and Pillsbury Pizza Pops brands. General Mills brands include Cheerios and Lucky Charms cereals, Betty Crocker baking mixes, instant potatoes and fruit snacks, Hamburger Helper and Nature Valley granola bars. Halinka Dybka, manager of public affairs for General Mills Canada, said it has not been determined if any changes to the advertising assignments for the brands will be made. General Mills' agency is Cossette Communication-Marketing. Pillsbury uses Leo Burnett.
