CINÉGROUPE AWARDS GALIDOR GLOBAL MERCHANDISING RIGHTS TO LEGO

Montreal-based entertainment company CinéGroupe has awarded the global merchandising rights to its television show Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension to The Lego Company. The series premiers in the U.S. and Canada in February 2002. Galidor combines live action with computer-generated animation. It follows the adventures of 15-year-old Nicholas as he defends the Outer Dimension from an evil tyrant. In the U.S. it will be seen on the Fox Kids Network. In Canada is will air on YTV. The merchandising rights include the master toy and software licenses. According to Lego, it has signed an agreement with United Media, a New York-based licensing and syndication company, to extend the Galidor property beyond these categories. United Media will license property rights to other manufacturers to produce Galidor-related merchandise in additional children's categories.
