CTV TO RESTRUCTURE
By Adnews Staff
CTV Inc. will restructure its operations as the result of a strategic review. The broadcaster plans to eliminate 150 positions, most in Toronto. According to the company, almost 20% of those positions are vacant. CTV maintains that the restructuring will permit more efficient use of resources due to the "centralization" and "re-organization" of administrative areas such as marketing, promotion, technical and management services. CTV Inc. operates 27 televisions stations in Canada and holds interests in 33 specialty and pay channels. During the last two years CTV has launched 12 stations and services. "During this unprecedented expansion, CTV found itself with many overlapping services and also found opportunities to change a number of its processes and methods," said Trina McQueen, president and chief operating officer of CTV.
