By Adnews Staff
U.S. sales of women's undergarments are expect to hit $4.5(US) billion this year, according to a study by Specialists in Business Information of New York. The research firm expects sales will grow over the next five years at a compound rate of 7% annually. The number of overweight women in the U.S. has increased sharply in the past 15 years. This has fueled an increase in the queen-size market, which is expected to grow 35% in 1995. Spending on undergarments for women aged 16 to 35 has been growing 15.6% over the past two years, climbing to almost $4 billion.
