TRAVELOCITY TO CUT COSTS

As part of a plan to reduce costs, travel Web site Travelocity of Fort Worth, TX is cutting its advertising spending. Also, 10 per cent of Travelocity's non-customer service staff will be laid off and a hiring freeze instituted. The company will also close its Sacramento call centre, rerouting calls to its San Antonio, Virgina and Pennsylvania call centres. Travelocity uses The Richards Group of Dallas, TX for its U.S. and Canadian advertising.
