CMA TO GIVE E-VISIONARY AWARD TO BCE'S JEAN MONTY

The Canadian Marketing Association will award Jean Monty, chairman and chief executive officer of BCE Inc., its first e-Visionary Award. Monty will receive the award at a special luncheon in Toronto on October 2 during the CMA's annual Internet conference. The e-Visionary Award was created this year by the CMA to mark individuals who have "demonstrated leadership in developing an e-Marketing business model while creating standards of excellence that benefit Canadian business and encourage global growth." John Gustavson, president and CEO of the CMA, said, "Our decision to honour Jean Monty with the first CMA e-Visionary Award is a true testament to his innovation, leadership and intuitiveness, and to BCE's success in responding to the market forces which have challenged the company, and which BCE has turned into business opportunities." The e-Visionary award will be presented annually to a recipient chosen by the Toronto-based association. The CMA is the largest marketing association in Canada with 800 corporate members consisting of financial institutions, insurance companies, publishers, retailers, charitable organizations and agencies.
