OUTDOOR GROUP DIRECTORS TO DO SOME RE-THINKING
By Adnews Staff
Directors of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Canada and the Canadian Outdoor Measurement Bureau are gathering in January to get their houses in order. "We're restructuring the OAAC and COMB leadership," OAAC chairman John Baird told Adnews yesterday. When asked why the leadership is being "restructured", Baird replied, "I can't talk about it right now." He said, "It's just a total evaluation of the OAAC and the value it brings to its membership." When asked if any members were unhappy with the OAAC, he also replied "I can't say." Last week Bob Reaume suddenly departed from his dual role as president of both the OAAC and COMB. Baird said there was a difference of opinion between directors and Reaume over what direction to take. The administration of the two bodies was merged under Reaume's leadership when he was hired in February, 1994, although they continued to operate independently, with each having A separate board. The OAAC represents outdoor advertising companies across Canada. COMB's membership comes from advertisers, ad agencies and outdoor advertising companies. It does out-of-home media measurement and research under the direction of vice-president Danielle Parent.
