CDMA ENVIRONMENTAL SURVEY
By Adnews Staff
The Canadian Direct Marketing Association is now doing its third environmental audit, asking companies to review their environmental programs and comment on the progress they've made. For the first time, the survey will try to show the effect of expanding electronic forms of direct marketing on the environment. More detailed information will also be gathered on the use of recycled content in direct mail pieces. Results of the survey will be published in May in the association's annual Environmental Report. The first audit was done in 1991. It showed the industry was committed to responsible environmental practices such as using recycled paper and vegetable inks, reducing packaging and more accurately targeting mailings.
