By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Days Inns - Canada will break a promotion on July 1 called "Check-in to Days Inn with YTV". The summer initiative invovles a free "check-in package" for the hotel chain's younger travellers which contains a copy of YTV's Whoa! magazine, postcards, a sample of Ritz-Bitz Sandwiches from Nabisco and an activity booklet. The package also contains a ballot to win a day at YTV in Toronto complete with airfare and accommodations at the Days Inn - Toronto Downtown for up to four people and a $500 spending spree at Toys R Us. "This promotion is in keeping with our strategy to give our guests something they weren't expecting," said Melissa Evans, director of national marketing for Days Inns - Canada. In past promotions the hotel chain has rewarded guests with free CDs and free CD players. "Check-in to Days Inn with YTV" is being promoted with print advertising in the summer issue of the Canadian Tourism Commission's Go magazine as well as in the May/June 2001 issue of Families, a publication poly-wrapped with Today's Parent magazine. The promotion runs until August 31 or while supplies last. Advertising was created in-house by Days Inns-Canada. There are over 75 independently-owned Days Inn locations in Canada.
