AMA CALLS TELUS MOBILITY CEO MARKETER OF THE YEAR

The Toronto chapter of the American Marketing Association has named George Cope, president and chief executive officer of Telus Mobility, marketer of the year. Cope was selected for his work at the wireless company such as the elimination of dealer contracts, one second billing, free calling for subscribers on their birthdays, the "Pay and Talk" prepaid service and wireless Web services. He was one of six finalists for the award. The other finalists were Andrew Brandt of the LCBO; Antoni Cimolino of the Stratford Festival; Bill De Nardo of Grocery Gateway; Daniel O'Neill of Molson and Hendrik von Kuenheim of BMW Canada.
