TORONTO SENDS SMOKE-FREE DINING MESSAGE BY SUBWAY
By Adnews Staff
The City of Toronto last week concluded a Subway Online campaign to deliver a "Countdown to Smoke Free Dining" message to residents. Subway Online is a network of digital matrix screens located on the city's subway platforms. For four weeks the public education campaign counted down the days to June 1, the first day of the city's new smoke-free policy in all restaurants, dinner-theatres and bowling centres. A series of four ten-second spots in various languages including Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, Punjabi and Polish, ran daily during a five-minute loop of news, weather and sports information. The City of Toronto is now considering plans to extend the campaign into the summer months to ensure as many residents as possible are made aware of the new policy. Advertising sales for Subway Online are handled by Toronto-based TDI Canada. The "Countdown to Smoke Free Dining" campaign was created by Publicis Wellcare of Toronto.
