PARROTT WINS PAUL MULVIHILL/NABS HUMANITARIAN AWARD
By Adnews Staff
Lesley Parrott is the first recipient of the Paul Mulvihill/NABS Humanitarian Award. Parrot, senior vice-president of education and development at MacLaren McCann, was presented with the award at the annual NABS Gala on Friday night. The award recognizes individuals in the Canadian advertising and communications industry who have contributed to helping others. Recipients are presented with $5,000 to donate to a charity of their choice. Parrott divided her donation between Bereaved Families of Ontario and "Stay Alert...Stay Safe," a national children's street-proofing program she helped to found following the murder of her daughter Alison in 1986. In 1988 the Paul Mulvihill Charitable Foundation established the Heart Award to honour the memory of Paul Mulvihill, a pioneer in the broadcast representation business. Last year the foundation and NABS established the Paul Mulvihill/NABS Humanitarian award.
