MCDONALD'S MCCAFES COMING TO CANADA
By Adnews Staff
McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited will open its first McDonald's McCafe in Canada later this month. The chain's gourmet coffee house concept was first introduced in Australia in 1993 and is now present in 17 countries. The McCafes are located within or close to existing full-service McDonald's restaurants. The first U.S. McCafe opened in Chicago yesterday. The menu consists of regular and decaffeinated coffees, cappuccinos, hot chocolates and teas as well as a line of pastries. Customers sit at bistro-style tables on leather couches and chairs. In Canada, the first McCafe will be incorporated into an existing restaurant in Burlington, ON. Public relations for McDonald's in Canada are handled by Weber Shandwick Worldwide of Toronto.
