Y&R MAKES TRIO OF ADS FOR HOT DOCS
By Adnews Staff
Young & Rubicam of Toronto is encouraging people to attend Hot Docs, the International Documentary Festival, through a series of three new television commercials. The spots began running on Showcase, Bravo, Discovery Channel, Citytv and the History Channel last week. Each execution is shot in a black and white film-style format and is designed to take portray the unpopularity of documentary film festivals in a light-hearted way. One of the three spots is also running at the Cumberland, Uptown and Royal theatres in Toronto until April 30. The spots will also be seen during the festival between film presentations. The festival will present 80 Canadian and international films, as well as filmmaking discussions, seminars, conferences, meetings, classes for documentary filmmakers and a Toronto Documentary Forum. Hot Docs 2001 takes place in Toronto from April 30 to May 6.
