CMA RESTRUCTURES

The Canadian Marketing Association has reduced its number of councils from 14 to eight as part of an internal restructuring. Five councils have been established to cover the areas of branding and strategic planning, integrated marketing, communications, customer relationship management, not for profit activities, and databases and marketing technologies. Three additional channel-related councils have also been established to cover contact centres, direct mail and e-marketing. The councils are scheduled to meet six times a year to identify issues related to their subjects. The association has also drafted a new education model to allow roundtable discussions of industries including finance, insurance, wealth management, publishing, business-to-business and telecommunications/utilities. These discussions will seek to identify issues affecting these sectors and to propose ways the association can provide support to them.
