SKYDATA BREAKS NEW MARKETING EFFORT
By Adnews Staff
A new print advertising campaign for Skydata Corporation, based in Mississauga, aims to set the computer data storage company apart from its competitors. "Let's face it, it's difficult to differentiate in the data storage industry," said Howard Goldberg, president of Skydata. The new ads are intended to be "fresh, eye-opening" alternatives to the 'boxes and cables" ads that pervade the industry, he said. The campaign breaks in the April issue of Computer Dealer News targeting IT professionals. The first execution shows a pair of feet sticking out of a coffin and the text "Need more storage?" It will be followed by a second execution in which a father and Skydata employee holds twin babies. The text in that ad reads "We're backup fanatics." A third and possibly fourth execution will also run in computer magazines. The campaign was created by Grey Worldwide of Toronto.
