HILL & KNOWLTON CREATES COW DISEASE ASSET GROUP

International public relations firm Hill & Knowlton has created a global asset group to counsel clients on Bovine Spongiform Encephalopothy as well as other food-safety issues. BSE is commonly known as "Mad Cow" disease. In Canada the group will be will be led by Ottawa-based vice-president Mike McNaney and Montreal-based vice-president Daniel Matte. The creation of the BSE Global Resource Group was prompted by last year's outbreak of the disease, said McNaney, but the group will not deal exclusively with that affliction. Clients seeking public relations counsel with respect to BSE will be offered services including risk assessments, issue familiarization packages and crisis communications.
