POSTERS TO CREATE AWARENESS FOR TENANTS AND LANDLORDS
By Adnews Staff
A new poster campaign created by Campbell Michener & Lee of Toronto is targeting tenants and landlords in that city. The campaign was created on behalf of The Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation, a provincial, non-profit charitable organization whose main focus is housing and human rights. Two different executions, each featuring black and white photography, are designed to highlight situations tenants may face. One ad includes a rental sign that reads "No Vacancy for immigrants and single moms." The second execution includes a tenant's mailbox and the message "Get Out and Stay Out." Both ads encourage people to call Community Information Toronto's info line for help in understanding their rights. According to Jennifer Ramsay, project co-ordinator for the Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation, the campaign was originally scheduled to run on 55 transit shelters but was pulled at the last minute. The posters will now appear throughout the city's libraries, community centres and social service offices.
